A commissioned piece for a young couple on the West Coast. She is lovingly referred to her partner as his “lioness.” While we had a tough time deciding on an animal expression for her man we decided on a space man as he is a contributor to the many feats carried out by Space-X.

The third painting in the continuation of the Animal Shred series and the first to depict a shredding animal outside of the water. I changed the head three times, from a macaque which was all too human and creepy, to a fox who's head didn't fit the body, and finally a moose. Burly, sweet, and likes to party; the moose fit this beautiful, sorrowless environment quite well. He'd drop into those deep blue arctic waves with true grit and an internal grin.
Prints available.

My original idea for Moth Shred had CJ Nelson as the surfer but as I looked through reference photos I found this lovely one of Riley Stone and went ahead with it. Whats interesting is that I believe CJ actually coaches Riley and I like to think of it as him spreading his beautiful wings as he continues to grow in his surfing life.
Cheesy I guess but feels are nice.
